This is a project of Elegy singer Ian Parry who is also known for his work with Venegance and Ayreon as well as for his solo album. Again Parry got help from some friends and known musicians, so this could be called an all-star project, but this isn't what Parry wants! He just want to make good music together with friends and so Continuum in extremis is varied record. The songs vary from hard rock to power metal, but there are progressive parts as well. The variety might be caused by the work with different musicians like Thom Youngblood (Kamelot), Patrick Rondat, Dirk Bruinenberg (Elegy) and the Vanden Plas members Stephan Lill and Günter Werno. I can recommend this one to all melodic metal fans as well as to fans of the named bands, but listen to it more than one time! This album need a few spins to develop it's magic.
