Company Of Snakes is the band of 3 original Whitesnake members - Micky Moody, Bernie Marsden and Neil Murray - and their way to continue Whitesnake. David Coverdale decided in the late 80's to change the sound and so Company Of Snakes are representing the early days Whitesnake sound. The double live CD was recorded at a show in Oslo and at Wacken 2000. The band of guitarists Bernie Marsden and Mickey Moody presented old Whitesnake classics and new songs which blend in perfectly and with Since You Been Gone they played a Rainbow classic. Not a big surprise as keyboarder Don Airey was part of Rainbow. Only drummer John Lingwood and singer Stefan Bergren are not that well-known. But the Swedish singer fits in great, not copying Coverdale, but still close to the original. Come On is the perfect opener followed by another classic - Walking In The Shadows Of The Blues. They successfully banned the atmosphere on tape and so the listener feels like being there at the live show. Well, it would have been great, if they had also recorded the shows for a DVD, but the ones who attended the Wacken 2000 show just have to close their eyes and will be back at the scene.
A great album and a must-have for fans of bluesy hard rock, coz this is pre fun to listen to. Put the CD in your play, crank up the volume and let the music take you away!
