You Go Now

You Go Now
(Massacre Records - 1999)

A lot of patience was needed while we waited for a long time for the new album of Kevin Moore. Tough times are over with the release of the follow-up to Dead Air For Radios which was his post Dream Theater debut. The 40 minutes long opus is called You Go Now. So, what to expect?!? The keyboarder become famous with the New York progsters of Dream Theater and his debut showed why he left the band, coz there he couldn't realize his musical visions. Moore consequently continues the style he started with the debut and shows again his enormous talent as a musician and composer. On his last CD he had famous mates (Fates Warning drummer Mark Zonder and bassist Joey Vera of Fates Warning & Armored Saint) who had joined him, now he took over additionally the bass parts beside the vocal and keyboard parts. Only for the guitar lines he needed help which were done by David Iscove.
On the 9 tracks Kevin Moore interweaves melancholy keyboard sounds and dark, sorrowful vocals. Slowness is more important for him in a world with were nowadays society is led by a hectic mentality. Kevin Moore put all his power and patience into Chroma Key, even if he record as a studio musician with Fates Warning and tours with the band A. In harmony with his mentality he takes time to release albums on a constant high quality level. What you won't find on this homogenous CD is a song like Colorblind which has the potential to become a hit. None of the 9 tracks stands out of the entirety of the album.
Now all fans of Kevin Moore and Chroma Key are waiting for a tour!!!! So, You Come Now!!!

You Go Now

You Go Now
(Massacre Records - 1999)

The second release of Kevin Moore is offering a kind of emotional avangard music like the debut Dead Air For Radio. You Go Now is probably a more relaxed album than the debut... The lyrics are a little weird, but the melody lines are great. The songs remind me a little bit of old Emerson, Lake & Palmer stuff. Who expected that Kevin Moore returned to the kind of music he did with Dream Theater or is looking for that kinda music, this isn't the one for you! This one is for open-minded who aren't just listening to metal. Great album, but not for metalheads!
