Situation Dangerous

Situation Dangerous
(Magna Carta - 2000)

They finally made it! The 3 living legends found time in their schedules to record their second album. This time Bozzio Levin Stevens had more time to work on this album and that's obvious when you're listening to this CD. The debut sounded more like a jam, this time it seems that it was more planned, but still you can hear that they had fun doing this. The 8 songs were written by the threesome as a unit and so this legendary musicians created great tunes with a large variety. They made the best out of the trio and the 'limited' instruments with the abilities they have. The opening track is a powerful track which is called Dangerous. The next track is called Endless, but is never boring and so time is flying. My favorite is the track Crash, but drummer Terry Bozzio named Spiral as the highlight on this CD.
Bozzio is known for his complex drumming which didn't lack the little details which keep the listeners interest and his groove give this album a special touch. The man of the bass, of every bass is playing brilliantly and his love for his instrument and music made a lot of releases special. The third man in this project is guitar wiz Steve Stevens who brings out of his guitar everything you can imagine! This album is killer! The large variety of the composition is based on the creativity of this 3 musical legends. One part e.g. is dedicated to flamenco, but that's just one element...
This second release of Bozzio Levin Stevens shows that they not only able to jam and spontaneously create tracks while improvisation, they can write structured songs easily. It would be a dream come true, if these man would play live on day....
