Fragile

Fragile
(Liljegren Records - 2011)

Bob K is a Swedish band which won a talent contest in 2002, played countless shows in Scandinavia and the Baltic States. Fragile is their second album and it kicks off with Morningstar. The opener is an atmospheric pop rock tune á la Muse / Coldplay. Songs like Save Me are highly infectious! Singer Peter Dalhoff's vocals are expressive and with his warm timbre he will enchant you. After the intermezzo High Horses they head into the briskly Coma, one of my faves on Fragile! Perfect balance between poppy keyboard sounds and rocking riffs in combination with catchy vocal lines. Partly danceable, but due to the slower passages not really made for the dance floor. Then it's time to slow down, first they Embrace you, then it's time for Stalker. Stalker is a very intense tune, first it's just guitar, keyboard and vocals, then the others join in. But the focus is on Dalhoff's vocals. Later the song explodes and they even offer some aggressive vocals - one could say growls, but that seems so out of place in this context. A sonic roller coaster ride! Other songs which I recommend are It's Time To Go and Broken Dreams and then they slowly lead you out of Fragile with the slightly symphonic Heaven. Actually you can enjoy every song, so for music lovers who don't need crushing guitar riffs and look for some relaxing sounds, check out Fragile!
