It's been 2 years since the 3-track EP of Bloodbath shook the world of death metal. The EP was a homage to the old death metal, to the early days of this genre. A fun project of four famous musicians. Fans wanted more. Now after 2 years they are back! Bloodbath is still: Mikael Åkerfeldt (vocals), Anders Nyström (guitar), Jonas Renske (bass) and Dan Swanö (drums).
A real killer album is Resurrection Through Carnage! Ten murderous tracks come over the listener like an earthquake! The album opener Ways To The Grave is about 'Dr. Death' Jack Kervokian. An extreme death metal track which has everything which made this genre big. The essentials. Extreme music, partly reduced to the minimum. Other tracks like So You Die - a curse to the hated enemy - is fast, mean and with breaks where the band slows down. An extreme, sick one is Mass Strangulation. The four-some not just tried to relive the days of glory, they tried to take the old essentials and push it to the limits. Death Delirium is starting slowly, almost melodic, but then hell breaks loose! Bathe In Blood comes over you like a deathly tornado, even if it has a touch of an anthem...
I don't want to go into detail, but this is a must buy for every death metal fan! Especially for maniacs from the early days of death metal, when bands of this genre crawl out of the underground and made this sound popular. Well, be aware of this deadly homage! Go, buy it!
