The Last Thing Undone is the third release of the German quartet and offers thrash metal with melodies like Metallica in their early days, but don't have the same quality. Singer Michael is influenced by James Hetfield and Ozzy Osbourne, but parallels to Hetfield & co are more obvious influences. In the past the Blackend boys played a lot live and got a good reputation as a live band here in Germany. With The Last Thing Undone they try to catch the attention of media & fans outside Germany as well. The quartet offers eight songs (running time: 34:39) which includes an instrumental called Long Now which isn't bad, but the certain something is missing... With Darkest Day they have a kind of ballad on the album, a powerful song which is an interesting piece of music and shows that Michael Goldschmidt is a decent singer who is able to sing soft, smooth tunes as well. But more typical are the title track and The More I Lie for Blackend. It seems that the four-piece is on the right way, some live shows will follow and if they follow their way, they can make it to the next level. Good work!
